Mapping the Georgian Art Scene /
In October 2024, the tranzit.cz team embarked on a curatorial research trip to Tbilisi, Georgia. The aim was to map the local scene and establish connections with both local artists and independent institutions—galleries, educational platforms, and publishing houses. The mobility was funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

During the fall of 2024, the tranzit.cz initiative for contemporary art will publish two new translations that present unique and intimate perspectives on life in New York City. tranzit.cz also published the artistic and theoretical anthology Sowing Unrest, which develops the political and theoretical context of the Prague Biennale Matter of Art, and the children's newspaper Tohle nejsou blbosti (This Is Not Baloney), whose content was created by a collective of dozens of children from Prague and Ostrava.

Overview of the September accompanying program /
The Biennale Matter of Art 2024 will culminate in a series of performances, excursions, guided tours, and discursive events held throughout September. The program is mainly concentrated in the Biennale centre in the National Gallery Prague at the Trade Fair Palace and reflects the themes of the exhibition – labor and rural change, the mental health of the working class, and sustainable approaches to agriculture.

Call for applications 2024 is now open until September 15th, 2024 /
The residencies are aimed at artists and curators from Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovak Republic and Slovenia, working in the field of critical contemporary visual art to do research in their respective area. An additional post is added for an artist or curator from Ukraine for the period of two months.

Where do efforts of inclusion and accessibility within art institutions stand in the Czech language space in 2024, and what can the different initiatives learn or unlearn from each other? As part of the third edition of the Biennale Matter of Art, a public discussion seminar will be held for the general and professional public, which aims to introduce some of these initiatives and, through the format of a lively discussion, critically situate them in the broader European context.

The third edition of the Prague-based international exhibition organised by tranzit.cz /
This year's Biennale Matter of Art will take place from June 14, 2024, to September 29, 2024, in the Grand Hall of the National Gallery Prague and other venues. Curated by Katalin Erdődi and Aleksei Borisionok, the project will also feature a new bilingual publication comprising theoretical texts and artistic contributions. Admission to the biennale as well as the accompanying public program will be free of charge.
