Nela Pietrová is an intermedia artist, cultural worker, and human rights activist. She received an honorary BA in photography from the University of the Arts London (2019), and during her studies she participated in an internship at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Marseille (2018). She then completed a follow-up MA in intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (2024). In her artistic practice and writing, she examines trauma and queer narratives through material and digital transformations. She has exhibited, for example, at etc. gallery in Prague and Galeria Studio in Warsaw. She has published texts on the online platform Swarm Mag and in revue Prostor. In 2025 her thesis “Conditions of Immortality: Queer and Traumatic Temporality” (2024) will be published by the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in an installment of the series 4x2. She cofounded the association NA*HLAS, which is behind the project Why We Didn’t Report It.
