tranzitdisplay - a resource centrum for contemporary art - is a project based on a collaboration between two partners - the tranzit initiative and the Display project.

tranzitdisplay is a polyfunctional project with an international programme which tracks current positions and trends in art, culture and everyday life. In the context of the Czech Republic, this activity represents a heretofore rather non-standard approach by a non-governmental non-profit institution of contemporary art.

The main goal and programme of tranzitdisplay is to operate a centre for contemporary art in Dittrichová Street in Prague 2.

Within the framework of the project, the existing programmes of exhibitions, lectures, screenings and platforms carried out by both groups - tranzit and Display - will continue developing.

The organisational activities in the new space are entrusted to Vít Havránek and
Zbyněk Baladrán who acts as executive directors and curators.

tranzitdisplay is a non-profit project with several sources of financing.

space
The space where the tranzitdisplay project's activities take place is located at Dittrichová Street in Prague 2, in the cellar of a residential building which used to house the Czechoslovak Health Insurance Workers' Pension Organisation and stands on the former site of the St Wenceslas baths.

The space's 337 m2 will encompass areas for exhibitions, screenings, lectures and discussion panels and others.

tranzitdisplay opened with the exhibition of Eric Beltran on Nowember 9th, 2007.
