Raut: Inconvenient Partisans

Why Aren't Women or Roma People Part of the History of the Anti-fascist Resistance? Interview with Erika Meszárosová and Martin Pfann

tranzit.cz ~ Matter Of Art · Raut: Nepohodlné partyzánstvo

In the second episode of the Raut podcast, we travel to Vysočina for the launch of the Partyzánská stezka (Partisan Trail) – an audio guide to the landscape of Horácko, which tells the story of the Romani partisan Josef Serinek. The art project is introduced by its author, intermedia artist and researcher Martin Pfann. In the second part of the podcast, we talk to artist Erika Meszárosová about her project Women in the Slovak National Uprising, their involvement in the partisan resistance and the ephemeral monuments Erika creates for them.

Raut is an intersectional discussion podcast about contemporary art and culture produced by the tranzit.cz publishing house and initiative for contemporary art in collaboration with the online daily Alarm. The new series is moderated by Ester Grohová and Nela Pietrová and continues the debate on contemporary art from perspectives that might at first glance be unrelated to art or are on the margins of social discussion. The first series was released in 2021/22 and was moderated by Agáta Hrnčířová and Max Dvořák.
