Recently there has been much talk in this country of the importance of post-colonial thinking. During the evening we will engage with what are mostly academic debates by reading poetry spread across historical periods and geopolitical communities.
We will read literature written both in French, British and Spanish colonies and in the hearts of the imperial powers. What will this diverse selection of authors, such as Una Marson, Aimé Césaire, Chinua Achebe and Bonifacio Byrne, tell us about the emergence and development of anti-colonial movements?
The reading of anti-colonial poetry is being organised by the Multicultural Centre Prague in collaboration with the initiative No to Racism!
