Crafting the commons: the politics of togetherness (intensive workshop)

The Modus Operandi AND consists of an ethical-aesthetical approach to “the way things happen” that offers a toolbox for the exercise of a sustainable coexistence. It is both a practical and theoretical interface, transversal to varied fields, that becomes of particular interest for those working in the mediation of relations.

Through exercises and games that place thinking and acting in the same plane, the Modus Operandi AND enables the experiential investigation of the singular and collective mechanisms for the composition (or live co-positioning) of reciprocity, sufficiency and the shared handling of the common.

The Modus Operandi AND has been systematized by the anthropologist and artist Fernanda Eugenio for the past 15 years, articulated with a trajectory that has slowly drifted from the framework of strict academic research toward the building of an in-between territory delineated by the artistic and political uses of ethnography. Ethnography is here understood as a “way-of-doing” that simultaneously performs and circumscribes the inhabitation of the encounter.
