Prague Modern, a contemporary music ensemble well established on the Czech scene and abroad, is organising courses aimed at music school students and the general public. The courses will mainly take the form of open workshops focusing on ensemble playing, and are intended not only for senior school pupils and music academy students, but also for jazz musicians and keen amateurs.

During this year’s courses, entitled Cardiostimulator, we would like to invite you to discover endless amounts of new music, new scores (graphic, verbal, open, etc.), to extend your own abilities (in solo and collective improvisation), and to become acquainted with some of the most important artists and works of the 20th century avantgarde.
Our experienced teachers and leading contemporary music performers (Lenka Kozderková – flutes, Tomáš Františ – bassoon, David Danel – stringed instruments, Daniel Matej – composition, conducting, improvisation) will be at students’ disposal for both group and individual lessons, and will work towards the programme of the final concert. The programme will also feature interesting lectures and projections. The Cardiostimulator courses will take place on 5–7 December 2014 in Prague at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU) and the tranzitdisplay Gallery (under the aegis of both institutions). A grant provided by the Ministry of Culture of the CR means that the course is free of charge.
