One of the main problems of young curators and artists is that they lack the opportunity to promote themselves internationally. As a direct result of this, they usually concentrate on collaborations on a local level. This tendency forces the creation of local clusters.
The art professionals therein have an outstanding knowledge on their local environment and their active agents. But their projects, exhibitions, works and events are – although highly interesting – fairly unknown on an international level.
The discussion taking place on September 26 in Tranzitdisplay, organized by Curators' and Critics' Programme and Curators' Network, will address the described situation as well as the forms and roles of networking, international collaboration, and partnership in contemporary art. The participating curators and networkes are based in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, and Romania.
