Although this country boasts a long tradition of top quality children’s literature, little of this is made of this in the media and specialist circles. And so we have decided to offer a platform to editors, publishers and critics who are concerned with children’s literature. What makes Czech children’s literature special? How do we recognise a good children’s book?
Are children’s reading habits changing? From a publisher’s point of view what are the advantages and risks of publishing literature for children?
The Criticism Club’s hosts will be:
Ivana Pecháčková, translator and editor, Meander Publishing House
Juraj Horváth, illustrator and graphic artist, Baobab Publishing House
Pavel Kořínek, literary critic and journalist, member of the Centre for the Study of Comics of the Institute of Czech Literature of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic and the Faculty of Arts of Prešov University
Petr Matoušek, translator, editor and literary critic
Blanka Činátlová will chair the debate.
