Who are you actually doing it for? (a conference on whether accompanying programmes in galleries have any point)
“Who are you actually doing it for? Nobody’s interested.” This is the most frequent reaction to attempts to mount educational and accompanying activities on the presentation of contemporary art in this country.
The conference will take the form of a roundtable discussion featuring special guests – theoreticians of art, artists, gallery employees and representatives of the academic world – on the point of accompanying activities presenting contemporary art to the general public.
In the second half of the conference selected contributions documenting certain questions will be presented. The invited guests will defend their opinions and take questions from the floor.
The debate is the brainchild of A. Bartlová and O. Horák and will be chaired by A. Bartlová a nd J. Kratochvíl.
