1. Post-communism as a factor in the formation of national identity
If we are talking of the concept of national identity, we cannot avoid the historical situation of post-communism. These days our communist past and affiliation to the Eastern Bloc is skirted over, suppressed, something we find difficult to admit to. However, this past is an undeniable part of our national identity. It was the result of previous social struggles that gave rise to a specific vision of a social regime.
