exhibition in tranzitdisplay / Práce / Work project
Punctum and Studium are concepts developed by Roland Barthes in the book La chambre claire. A book about the photographic image. Puctum, considered as subjective and Studium as objective are ways to select and evaluate an image. The Studium is objective and has an interest driven by awareness, while the Punctum has a subjective character, and is an interest that is imposed on those who look the picture, with regard to details that touch the viewer emotionally and vary from person to person.
The artist Carla Filipe follows this grid in the selection of images from is personal archive built up over the years. A European historiography
combined and branched.
The entire archive, even if from a serial context, in the exhibition takes a status of rarity. The construction of a polymorphic file comes from a desire that seeking to ensure a future always threatened by the finiteness.
